2010 Season - Week 11
BUMS go South
A quarter of the BUMS flew into Houston last Thursday and by Sunday had seen 3 live gridiron games. Friday Night saw the North Shore Mustangs knock Hightower Hurricanes out of the Texas Regional High School Play-offs. Then on Saturday it was on to Baton Rouge to join 92,000 to see number 5 LSU host Ole Miss. A cracking game with 7 lead changes in the second half, LSU scored with 20 seconds left to avoid the upset. On Sunday morning we headed to New Orleans to see The Saints easily handle the NFC West leading Seahawks. As I type this we are now driving the 500 miles to Dallas where Chief, H, Johnnie and Mark will be joined by a fifth BUM AP and special celebrity guest Keith Patton this evening. We will be seeing Dallas host New Orleans on Thanksgiving Day before returning to Houston (via Austin and San Antonio) to see the Texans and Tennessee.
Big Week for all the BUMS
Congratulations to one and all as we totalled 487 points for our second highest total since 2005 (498 points in week 2 of 2007). That is the 8th highest total since we moved to 16 owners back in 2001. The average score of 30.44 points per owner is the 15th highest ever. We were powered to that score by not one but two Hall of Fame performances.
Scoring Hall of Fame
Johnnie entered the Scoring Hall of Fame for a record breaking 10th time as he put up 55 points courtesy of Tomlin (6), Crosby (7), Rodgers (12), Foster (12) and Johnson (18). His tenth visit breaks a three-way tie with Mark and Wayne. Going into the Sunday Night Game Aaron had 49 points from Gano (13), Peyton (12), Jennings (18) and Edwards (6) with 2 people to play. They both obliged as he scored another 6 from Reid as Phili beat the Giants and 6 more when Moreno opened the scoring on MNF. His total of 61 points equals the 11th highest weekly total and is his second visit to the marbled halls (his first was back in 2002).
Owners Hall of Fame - One Week Left
Thanks to those who have voted so far. It’s very close at the top and there are still a number of people who have yet to vote so get your sales message out there. The rules are simple - all you have to do is email me the name of the owner you wish to place in the Hall of Fame by next Wednesday December 1st - YOU MAY NOT VOTE FOR YOURSELF.
Players on Injured Reserve
From now on any player on a BUMS roster who is put on IR may be replaced. It is your responsibility to monitor your players health. I will try to keep an eye on everyone but if you know email me. Dave G signed Houston’s Neil Rackers as the Pats put Stephen Gostkowski on IR. H has re-signed Colts kicker Adam Vinatieri who he cut a week before as his new kicker Cincinnati’s Mike Nugent was put on IR by the Bengals. Both moves were made before week 11. Remember from now on the weekends start on Thursday Night so I need your change by 11pm Thursday. Wish y’all were here, as they say in these parts.
